Conflicts following the Cataclysm have engulfed every corner of Azeroth. The Horde, seeking new resources to fuel its war machine, marches on Ashenvale. Under the command of Warchief Garrosh Hellscream, a brutal new tactic is planned to conquer these lands and crush the night elves defending them. Unaware of the impending disaster, legendary night elf leaders Tyrande Whisperwind and Malfurion Stormrage convene a council near Darnassus. The assembled representatives are to vote on admitting the proud Worgen of Gilneas into the Alliance. However, King Varian Wrynn of Stormwind is deeply angered by Gilneas and its ruler, Genn Greymane. Varian's refusal to forgive Genn for isolating his kingdom years ago not only jeopardizes the vote but threatens to fracture the Alliance itself.
