Sixteen-year-old Eli's mother vanished years ago in Norway, seemingly carried away by the Northern Lights. Eli believes the Arctic legend that whistling at the aurora can make it take you. Now living in Cape Cod, Eli seizes an opportunity when the Northern Lights appear locally to contact her mother. Her mother returns with a vague explanation, and Eli keeps the reunion a secret. However, strange occurrences, including narwhals and meteor showers, begin to unfold, blurring the lines between reality and secrets.
