Монография комплексно исследует институт высшей власти и управления Русской Православной Церкви в период с XX по начало XXI века. Она рассматривает трансформацию центральной церковной администрации дособорного периода, реформы, предложенные Собором 1917–1918 годов, и судьбу соборно-патриаршего управления в условиях гонений. Также затрагивается постепенное восстановление принципа соборности в принятии церковных решений и самоопределение Церкви в сфере организации высшей власти. Осмысление прошлого опыта, особенно достижений Всероссийского Церковного Собора, призвано помочь современному церковному законодателю в налаживании механизмов управления.

This monograph offers a comprehensive academic study of the supreme authority and governance within the Russian Orthodox Church from the 20th century into the early 21st century. It examines the transformation of central church administration in the pre-conciliar period, reforms proposed by the 1917–1918 Church Council, and the fate of conciliar-patriarchal governance amidst persecution by the atheistic Soviet state. The work also addresses the gradual re-establishment of conciliarity in church decision-making and the Church's self-determination regarding its highest governing bodies. Reflecting on past experiences, particularly the achievements of the All-Russian Church Council, aims to assist contemporary church legislators in refining the mechanisms of authority and governance.
