The two-volume "Explanatory Dictionary of the Belarusian Literary Language" contains more than 65,000 words. The dictionary entry provides brief explanations of the meanings of the word, examples of its use in the language, terminological and phraseological combinations. The dictionary provides the main grammatical meanings of the word and stylistic notes indicating the scope of its use. Derivatives of the word are also given, and the stress is marked. Aphorisms, proverbs and sayings are widely used in the Dictionary as illustrations.
