Billy Halleck, a successful but overweight man, is haunted by the memory of an old gypsy woman's death, an accident for which he was cleared by the courts. Initially pleased when he begins to lose weight, his relief turns to dread as the weight loss becomes uncontrollable. The curse, whispered by an old man, takes root, consuming his flesh and reason, leading to despair and violence.
