Despite predictions of its decline, religion continues to thrive globally. This work addresses the challenge of understanding the vast array of religious phenomena by proposing a universal framework. It moves beyond abstract theories to examine concrete practices such as worship, holidays, conversion narratives, and life-cycle rituals across diverse traditions including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Daoism, and Shinto. The central argument posits that religions offer promises of averting misfortune, aiding in crisis management, and providing blessings and salvation.
