Jonathan Swift, an Irish satirist, essayist, prose writer, and poet, found his calling as a cleric at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. "The Journal to Stella" comprises sixty-five letters penned by Swift to his friend Esther Johnson, whom he affectionately called "Stella." Some accounts suggest she may have been his secret wife, though definitive proof remains elusive. These letters, written between 1710 and 1713 while Swift was in England, are widely regarded by critics as deeply personal reflections.
