This work examines the complex relationship between the development of statistics and the formation of the German state in the first half of the 20th century. It analyzes how statistical methods and data were utilized for governance, planning, and the ideological justification of state policies between 1900 and 1945. The evolution of statistical services and their role across different political regimes is considered.
