Forensic artist Sherry Mitchell arrives in Corpus Christi seeking to recover from two years of demanding work with the FBI. However, a serial offender is active in the resort town, and the investigation has stalled. John Hutton, an Omega Sector agent sent to assist the local police, persuades Ms. Mitchell to aid in the inquiry. A romance blossoms between them, but Sherry suspects John's interest is only temporary, tied to the investigation, as the situation grows increasingly perilous.
