This novel explores the fragile line between madness and genius against the backdrop of the Soviet Union's collapse. It tells a story of self-discovery through extreme performance art and risky relationships. In late 1980s Moscow, Bauman University student Volodya Grishin skillfully avoids existential thoughts until he meets Elya, an avant-garde performance artist and embodiment of chaos. She pulls him from his academic environment into a whirlwind of absurdity: underground exhibitions, provocations, and questionable companions. In this world, rebellion intertwines with longing, and madness appears to be the only norm, forcing Volodya to re-evaluate his understanding of normalcy, art, and what it means to be alive in a volatile era.
