Лидия Шевелева, корреспондент газеты «Время, вперед!», получает от анонимного источника компромат на главу юридической службы холдинга олигарха Тимофея Кольцова – Егора Шубина. По указанию начальства она пишет убойную статью, в результате которой Шубин теряет работу, а Кольцов даёт ему неделю на разбор ситуации под угрозой смерти. Судьба вмешивается, когда враги Шевелевой и Шубина вновь сталкиваются, и Лидия помогает Егору отразить атаку банды, почти убившей его младшего брата. Понимая, что их хотят уничтожить, Лидия и Егор объединяются, чтобы вычислить общего врага.
Lydia Sheveleva, a correspondent for the newspaper "Time, Forward!", receives explosive documents from an anonymous source that expose the head of the legal department of oligarch Timofey Koltsov’s holding – Yegor Shubin. With her editor’s approval she writes a damning article that destroys Shubin’s reputation, leading Koltsov to fire him and give him a week to sort out the crisis, under threat of death. Fate intervenes when Lydia and Shubin’s enemies clash again, and Lydia helps Yegor fend off a gang that nearly kills his younger brother. Realising they are both targets, Lydia and Yegor join forces to uncover the mastermind behind the deadly game.
