Nearly two years have passed since the end of two brief and victorious wars. The focus has shifted to different challenges, including the country's past backwardness, societal sentiments, and increased activity from the left wing of the Third and Fourth Internationals. Ambition and a sense of invincibility were prevalent in post-war society. A significant confrontation with the world's two most powerful economies, which will not yield without a struggle, lies ahead.
