This open access book examines how a democracy can devolve into a post-factual state. The media landscape is saturated with populist narratives, fake news, conspiracy theories, and fabricated content. Misinformation presents a significant challenge for politicians, journalists, and citizens alike. In an era where attention is a valuable asset, the pursuit of exposure and traffic often comes at the expense of factual accuracy. This work analyzes the mechanics of the information market, the attention economy, and the media ecosystem that contribute to the rise of post-factual democracy.
