The novel "Lines of Communication" explores themes of self-sacrifice and saving another, connecting two timelines: 1936 in the Soviet Union and the dystopian future of 2045. At the heart of the story are two characters named Nina. One, in 1936, works for the People's Commissariat of Railways and is connected to a high-ranking official. The other, in 2045, is an artificial intelligence interacting with a special courier of a totalitarian state. Both Ninas, regardless of their nature β human or machine β are ready to defy established laws and their own destiny to save another.
