В жарком мареве Адыгеи появляются огненные силуэты, оставляя выжженные следы на полях. Бывший военный хирург, поселившийся здесь с семьей, сначала не придает значения тревожным слухам о загадочных существах. Однако исчезновение его дочери заставляет его отправиться на поиски таинственных фигур. В этом ему помогают случайные добровольцы: местный библиотекарь Азим, его внук Дэн и врач Гульшан. Вскоре выясняется, что дочь доктора — не единственный пропавший ребенок. Преследуя загадочные огненные фигуры, отряд пересекает горные реки, исследует древние курганы и сталкивается с силами, стоящими за появлением полудниц.

Fiery silhouettes appear in the heat haze of Adygea, leaving scorched tracks in the fields. A former military surgeon, who settled here with his family, initially dismisses rumors of mysterious creatures. However, the disappearance of his daughter compels him to search for the enigmatic figures. He is aided by unlikely volunteers: local librarian Azim, his grandson Dan, and doctor Gulshan. It soon becomes clear that the doctor's daughter is not the only missing child. Pursuing the mysterious fiery figures, the group crosses mountain rivers, explores ancient burial mounds, and confronts the forces behind the appearance of the midday spirits.
