Grigory Bystritsky's new collection expands the geographical scope of his characters' journeys. Alongside familiar settings of the Far North, the stories venture into European cultural centers, the intrigue-laden Middle East of the 1940s, and contemporary North and Latin America. The central piece, the play 'Polygon', explores a conflict within successful technocratic youth, contrasting support for street protests against official arbitrariness with arguments that Russia should no longer serve as a testing ground for experiments. The audience is invited to form their own conclusions.
