This work examines Plato's principle that literature should challenge the notion of ideal truth, rather than serve as a vehicle for subjective artistic visions. It delves into contemporary hermeneutics, where the origin of thought is often seen as elliptic within postmodern and continental philosophy. The text addresses the inherent ambiguities in Plato's own writings, which lead to extensive speculation. It explores how the nature of the novel, its evolution, and postmodern technologies question the nature of reality and human exigency. The book juxtaposes Platonic exegesis of the real with Baudrillardian aporia on contemporary modes of reality.
