Down syndrome is a common developmental disorder, and opportunities for neurocognitive rehabilitation are now recognized. This book details how early cognitive intervention in children with Down syndrome can be implemented. Such intervention may reduce or compensate for the significant deficits characteristic of the condition. The neurocognitive approach is related to therapeutic endeavors in neurogenetics, experimental environmental enrichment, molecular genetics, pharmacology, pediatrics, and cardiology.
