Overview

This is Mark Ravenhill's adaptation of Terry Pratchett's challenging adventure story, presented as a major Christmas production. It unfolds in a parallel world set in 1860, where two teenagers, Mau and Daphne, are thrown together after a tsunami destroys Mau's village and leaves Daphne shipwrecked on his South Pacific island. As refugees gather, Daphne takes on unexpected roles, while Mau questions his tribe's beliefs and discovers new truths about the world. Overseen by a parrot, they shed old doctrines to forge a new nation.
