Филарет советовал царям и видным деятелям, участвовал в ключевых государственных делах, возводил новые храмы и восстанавливал старые, в том числе Храм Христа Спасителя в Москве. Издание одобрено к распространению Издательским советом Русской Православной Церкви.
The volume narrates the life and achievements of Metropolitan Philaret of Moscow and Kolomna (Drozdov, 1782‑1867), who led the Moscow clergy for forty‑six years and steered Russian public thought toward national self‑identification. His most significant accomplishment was the translation of the Bible into contemporary Russian, complemented by his relentless preaching, which earned him the nickname "Moscow Golden‑Mouthed." Philaret was a trusted advisor to tsars and leading figures, participated in major state affairs, and oversaw the construction of new churches as well as the restoration of old ones, including the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow. The book is approved for distribution by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
