The "cabinet of curiosities" was a collector's attempt to gather objects from artistic, scientific, and intellectual endeavors, aiming to encompass all human knowledge in one space. Aristocratic virtuosos like Grand Duke Francesco I de Medici and Emperor Rudolf II collected and displayed items representing architecture, painting, gemology, botany, astrology, and history. These collections offer a journey through time, from the Renaissance to the present day, showcasing rare artifacts, artworks, and mechanical automata.
