Robert E. Lucas2013
In this book, Nobel laureate Robert Lucas has collected his work on economic growth. Lucas moves from the general theory of how economic growth can be maintained and why growth rates in different countries may vary, to explaining the unexpected surge in growth since the industrial revolution and predicting patterns of growth in the 21st century. Lucas emphasizes the importance of accumulating both physical and human capital. The lectures are devoted to the interaction between human capital growth and the demographic transition in the early stages of industrialization.
