Amvrosia (Obrucheva), nun (2024)
This book offers essays chronicling the long life of an old woman who, despite hardships, always felt blessed by God's grace and considered herself happy. In 1917, with the blessing of Elder Anatoly, she entered the Shamordino convent, taking her monastic vows in 1919. Her diligence and meticulousness, once applied to studying medicine, were now directed towards spiritual growth, documented in detailed diary entries about her path to monastic perfection. Following Elder Anatoly's death and the closure of the monasteries, Father Nikon took over spiritual guidance for the sisters. Through the notes of Sister Amvrosia, readers gain insight into his pastoral care and can read his final letters from exile.
