Восьмиклассник Денис Журавлёв, не находя понимания у сверстников и узнав, что его мама выходит замуж, уезжает к деду в деревню. Там он изучает звёздное небо в надежде найти близкий разум. В деревне Денис знакомится с тринадцатилетней девочкой Полей, которая не умеет говорить, но рисует странные символы. Денису предстоит расшифровать их и найти способ общения с Полей.

Eighth-grader Denis Zhuravlev, lacking understanding from his peers and learning that his mother is getting married, leaves for his grandfather's village. There, studying the starry sky, he hopes that there will be intelligence in the Universe that will be close to him. In the village, Denis's neighbor turns out to be a thirteen-year-old girl Polya, who cannot speak, but draws strange symbols everywhere. Deciphering them and finding a way to communicate with Polya is the task that Denis has to solve.
