Spring fever grips the small town of Crozet, Virginia, as the annual Dogwood Festival approaches. Postmistress Mary Minor Harry Haristeen finds her own instincts stirring, while her tiger cat, Mrs. Murphy, senses something more is in the air. The mystery begins with stolen hubcaps and escalates with the suspicious death of a young mechanic. As another death and a shooting occur, a discovery of half a million dollars in cash points to a deeper, darker plot. Harry finds herself on the trail of a murderer, with Mrs. Murphy already aware of the killer's identity and their next target.
