Возвышение пополанских слоев и их организация по территориальному и цеховому принципу привели к социальной борьбе с родовой знатью. Эта борьба завершилась победой пополанов и принятием антимагнатского законодательства, что позволило народу занять вершину социальной иерархии. Однако, наряду с противоречиями, происходил и социальный синтез: ассимилированная знать вступала в старшие цехи, а представители народа стремились к рыцарским статусам и приобретали земельные владения.

This book examines the transformation of social relations in 13th-14th century Florence, focusing on the urbanization of feudal nobility. The rise of the popolani classes and their organization by territorial and guild principles led to social conflict with the established nobility. This struggle culminated in the victory of the popolani and the adoption of anti-magnate legislation, placing the common people at the apex of the social hierarchy. Alongside these conflicts, social synthesis occurred: assimilated nobles joined senior guilds, while commoners aspired to knightly status and acquired landed estates.
