This new book by Vladimir Kucheryavkin is divided into two parts. It opens with the poem "A Thousand Li to Yangzhou," written in the early 90s, echoing the events that shook the country during that era and immersing the reader in a nostalgic atmosphere of past days. Following this is the cycle of poems "Watchman's Songs," created recently, reflecting the impressions of a life-experienced poet gained during his noble and dangerous service as a watchman.
