Daniel Boyarin
This book challenges the conventional understanding of the historical separation between Judaism and Christianity as a clear division of a single entity. Daniel Boyarin presents a compelling argument for a different perspective on the partition of Judaeo-Christianity. He contends that in late antiquity, there were no uniquely Jewish or Christian characteristics. Instead, Jews who followed Jesus and those who did not coexisted within a cultural landscape where beliefs and practices were widely distributed. The author argues that the ultimate distinctions were imposed by 'border-makers' and heresiologists seeking to establish a distinct Christian identity.
