Sunday Forrester lives a meticulously ordered life with her teenage daughter, Dolly. Her routines include adhering to specific food colors on quiet days and consulting an etiquette handbook for social navigation. Escape comes from a treasury of Sicilian folklore. However, Dolly, on the verge of leaving home, remains beyond her mother’s control. The arrival of neighbors Vita and Rollo disrupts Sunday's carefully constructed world. Their charm disarms her, and they begin to challenge her established rules.
