Боголюбская икона получила свое название от святого князя Андрея Боголюбского, которому явилась сама Богородица в позе, запечатленной на иконе. В правой руке она держала свиток, а левой указывала на Господа. После этого явления князь основал храм и обитель на месте явления по велению Богородицы. Образ был написан лучшими иконописцами и прославился многочисленными чудесами за века. По молитвам у этой иконы верующие получают телесное и душевное здравие. Чтение акафиста или молитв к ней не раз спасало русский народ от бед и эпидемий. Память иконы празднуется 1 июля по новому стилю.

The Bogolyubskaya Icon is named after Saint Prince Andrew Bogolyubsky, who was honored with the vision of the Theotokos herself, depicted in the pose seen on the icon. She held a scroll in her right hand and pointed to the Lord with her left. Following this apparition, the prince founded a church and monastery at the site by the Theotokos's command. The holy image was painted by master iconographers and has been glorified by numerous miracles over the centuries. Through prayers to this icon, people receive physical and spiritual health. Reciting the akathist or prayers to her has repeatedly saved the Russian people from various epidemics and misfortunes. The icon's feast day is celebrated on July 1st (New Style).
