В монашеских общинах Святой Горы Афон особое место занимает добродетель послушания, духовное повиновение старцу. Под руководством духовника происходит формирование молодого монаха и его возрастание в христианских добродетелях. Наказы старца воспринимаются как проявление воли Христа. Автор, погруженный в духовный быт афонского монастыря, начал писать статьи по благословению своего старца. Эти статьи, в основном беседы с представителями современного монашества, охватывают широкий круг тем: слово о Христе, Пресвятой Богородице, священстве, мистицизме, Иисусовой молитве, а также проблемы современной молодежи, эвтаназия и отношения между православием и другими конфессиями. Большинство из них было опубликовано в церковной периодике.

Within the monastic communities of Mount Athos, the virtue of obedience, or spiritual submission to one's elder, holds a central place. Under such spiritual guidance, a young monk's formation and growth in Christian virtues take place. The elder's instructions are accepted as a manifestation of Christ's will. Immersed in the spiritual richness of Athonite monastic life, the author felt compelled to undertake this spiritually beneficial work upon receiving a blessing from his elder. Supported by his elder's prayers and driven by love and gratitude for the Church, he authored numerous articles, primarily conversations with contemporary monastics. These discussions cover diverse topics including Christ, the Theotokos, the priesthood, mysticism, the Jesus Prayer, challenges faced by modern youth, euthanasia, and interfaith relations. Many of these pieces were initially published in church periodicals.
