This work presents an account of the 1715 Jacobite rebellion, an event that could have ended the Act of Union in its early stages. Drawing on a range of resources from England, Scotland, and France, the author analyzes both the dramatic and smaller risings of the rebellion. The book examines the motivations that led some men to rebel and reveals the significance of this particular uprising.
