Фёкла была верным другом 11-летнего Севки, приютив его, когда тот остался совсем один. Теперь Фёкла — лишь голос в его голове, а самого Севку отправляют в детский дом. Там он сталкивается с Ржавым, местным заводилой, который кажется его заклятым врагом. Возможно, агрессия Ржавого — лишь маска одинокого ребёнка. Ночной костёр в лесу у летнего лагеря приводит к бегству от хулиганов, и утром Севка с Ржавым обнаруживают, что заблудились. Им предстоит провести несколько дней в лесу в ожидании помощи. Эти испытания могут стать шансом для ребят узнать друг друга лучше и перестать быть врагами. Это также поможет Севке пережить потерю любимой Фёклы.

Fekla was the best friend of 11-year-old Sevka, taking him in when he was left all alone. Now, Fekla is just a voice in the boy's head, and Sevka himself is sent to an orphanage. The kids there aren't so bad, except for Rusty, the local ringleader, who seems to consider Sevka his sworn enemy. Or perhaps Rusty's aggression is just the bravado of a lonely child. A nighttime campfire in the woods near the summer camp ends with an escape from bullies, but by morning, Sevka and Rusty realize they are lost. They will have to spend more than one day in the forest waiting for help. But if not for these trials, perhaps the boys would never have gotten to know each other better, remaining enemies? And who then would have helped Sevka survive the loss of the grumpy, but so dear and beloved Fekla?
