Sindbad the Sailor features an adapted children's text of a masterpiece of Arabic literature. The translation is by orientalist Mikhail Alexandrovich Salye, who was the first and only person in Russia to translate the tales of "One Thousand and One Nights" from the original language. This translation was first published between 1929 and 1939. Illustrations by Irina Petelina complement the narrative, immersing readers in a world of Arabian wonders.
